USTA League Registration Still Open For Players Looking For Teams

USTA League registration is open and captains are encouraged to get their teams online early. Deadline for team registration is February 12th! Fees are $25. A mandatory captains' meeting is Tuesday, Febuary 23rd at KRC (upper Level) 5:15PM Even (3.0, 4.0, 5.0 adult and senior) 7:00PM Odd (2.5, 3.5, 4.5 adult and senior) Brief meeting to go over changes for 2010. Please Bring Team Roster from Tennislink. Please bring one check/team made payable to GKTA for dues. $15/player/year Check should cover all players on roster. Even adult captains should pay for their players, first, if the player is playing in more than one division EX.: playing 4.0 adult and 4.5 senior

Help GKTA And City of Knoxville Complete Phase II of West Hills Project

The City of Knoxville invested $259,273.00 in helping get Phase I completed in 2008. With the successful partnership of GKTA and The City of Knoxville for Phase I, we have high hopes that the City of Knoxville will partner with us to complete Phase II. The GKTA is hoping for matching funds from the City of Knoxville in 2010. Now, Phase II of the West Hills Tennis Center Rescue project is within grasp. The cost of Phase II is estimated to be $250,000-300,000. In addition to existing fundraising opportunities, an exciting new fundraising project has been undertaken by Tommy Mozur’s family and friends as a memorial.

Muffy Vineyard Vows To Get West Hills Tennis Center Rebuilt, One Brick At A Time

Muffy Vineyard, owner of long time GKTA volunteer and tennis enthusiast Nancy Vineyard, has set out on a mission to help get the West Hills Tennis Center Rescue project completed by selling millions of dollars in brick pavers. (Keep in mind dog dollars and human dollars are not one and the same.) The GKTA and City of Knoxville are partnering together in hopes of getting Phase II completed in 2010. Muffy and the GKTA must first raise the funds needed to reach this lofty goal. GKTA family members are encouraged to purchase bricks/pavers as gifts or memorials. Bricks will be used to cover the concrete blocks of the WHTC clubhouse first.
